Description

This talk identifies racism as a structural concept, which may be defined as prejudice + power. A correct diagnosis of the problem of racism, linked as it is to structures of power will expose the need for more than individual change to bring about transformation in society. It is vital that if we wish to combat racism we must examine the nature of power, both within and without the church. Who has the power? What does it mean biblically and contextually to wield power in a country which has seen such massive abuse of power? What does a Christ centred understanding of power look like in this context?
