I’ve sung many different Christmas Carols through years and watched many different nativity plays and heard many different sermons, but there is one scene in the Christmas story that I’ve never heard sung, never seen acted out and never heard preached on. It’s the account of the massacre of the baby boys in Bethlehem by Herod and the subsequent flight of Jesus and his family to Egypt. For many Christmas morning brings Christmas mourning! How does grief fit with Christmas? This text outlines three truths about grief. But our text also shows us three thing are true about God in the midst of our grief.
