Description
Paul encourages young Galatian congregations to stand firm in their blood bought freedom by not submitting to certain cultural/church practices and being on their guard against false teachers. These two dangers continually rob the freedom Christians should enjoy. For us today sometimes obeying God for the wrong reason can be as bad as disobeying God. In Paul ‘s mind why we obey God or comply to certain rules can be the difference between slavery and freedom. Our freedom is fragile and can so quickly be threatened and lost. Sometimes we need to be reminded to Stand Firm in our freedom and not submit to any teaching that requires us to do something or be something in order to be loved and accepted by God.
Stand Firm – Keep your Foreskin (Galatians 5:2-6)
If you submit Christ is nothing (Galatians 5:2-4)
If you believe Christ is everything (Galatians 5:5-6)?
Stand Firm – Beware of Spiritual Kidnappers (Galatians 5:7-12)
The damage false teachers do?
We teach our children to identify kidnappers so does Paul
How should false teachers be treated?
