The Parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:1-2 11-32).
This has to be one of the most amazingly brilliant short stories ever told. Two brothers; both are lost; two different ways of finding happiness; one doesn’t see his lostness. Which brother are you like? Which brother is the hardest to reach? It is the one who can ‘t see his lostness. Most often preachers only focus on the younger brother but from the context Jesus shows us that he wants to focus on the elder brother. Unfortunately books movies testimonies mostly focus on younger brother stories of coming home. I believe we need to hear more elder brother stories of coming home. Join us as we unpack this parable and as we hear Jesus inviting us (where ever and whoever we are) to come home.
